Clinical Spotlight: Resolve’s Internship Program

My name is Jeri Sullivant, LSCSW and I am the Intern Program Director and Clinical Supervisor at Resolve Counseling and Wellness. Our agency takes great pride in our Internship Program and the students we host at our Northland and Southland locations are among the strongest up-and-coming therapists in the area. Not only does Resolve provide a clinically robust program in which students can hone their clinical skills in advanced practice settings, but we also help meet the needs of our community in creative and meaningful ways in the process.

Students: During an internship at Resolve you can expect to meet with individuals, couples, and groups at our agency and at outside community organizations. We pair your client experience with weekly and on-call clinical supervision facilitated both individually and in a group setting, designed to evaluate and strengthen your clinical skills. You will have the opportunity to attend monthly trainings presented by specialists on the Resolve staff to grow in your knowledge of various methodologies and diagnoses. There are also several opportunities for professional writing, agency and community presentations, networking, and marketing. You will be paired with a seasoned intern throughout your experience to help answer your questions and guide you through the day-to-day functioning of a thriving private practice setting. One of the things I love most about Resolve is that we offer a friendly, community feel among our staff members and interns. Resolve functions as a team as we are all united around the same passion for providing quality, cutting-edge mental health treatment to all people. It’s an honor for us to partner with universities to help provide future therapists with the strongest possible start to their careers!

Community: Resolve’s Internship Program is a heavy hitter in helping us accomplish our goal of removing barriers to quality mental health treatment by providing discounted sessions to community members. If you are in need of treatment but your funding or insurance options are preventing you from getting help, or if you’ve found a treatment option but the wait time prior to getting started is too long, Resolve is here to help. You can easily book online or over the phone with one of our interns at a reduced fee, with no wait time. In addition to helping make services more accessible, our graduate interns are actively engaged in the community, providing teen skill building groups at the Resolve office and within several local schools, delivering psychoeducational presentations at various community organizations, creating virtual content for people to receive mental health tips and tricks without scheduling an appointment, participating in mental health panels in the community, guest speaking in classes ranging from elementary to collegiate levels, and more. Resolve exists for the community, and we are very proud of our interns, and Internship Program as a whole, for the many ways they bring mental treatment from inside the office, outside to you. If you belong to a group or organization interested in what Resolve could contribute to your team, give me a call and I’d love to discuss how our team can support you.
